Each member of the JWCS leadership team leads a distinct area of practice, bringing specialized knowledge while working collaboratively to address complex organizational challenges. Meet Charryse

Founder & Principal Consultant

Charryse N. Wright is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Just Wright Community Solutions (JWCS), where she partners with organizations and systems to strengthen leadership, transform culture, and build organizational capacity through reflective, values-driven practice. Her work helps organizations align leadership, culture, and day-to-day operations so they consistently reflect the people and communities they are called to serve.

With nearly two decades of experience spanning government, corrections and public safety, behavioral health, healthcare, nonprofit organizations, faith communities, and higher education, Charryse specializes in helping organizations navigate complexity with clarity and purpose. She partners with executive leaders, management teams, and frontline professionals to strengthen organizational culture, improve leadership practice, and build systems that support long-term organizational health.

Known for translating complex challenges into practical action, Charryse designs and facilitates leadership development, organizational assessments, strategic planning, curriculum development, executive retreats, workforce engagement initiatives, and culture transformation efforts. Her work is grounded in the belief that sustainable organizational change begins by strengthening the people, relationships, and systems that shape everyday practice.

As a minister, social worker, educator, and organizational consultant, Charryse brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to her work. She integrates organizational leadership, trauma-responsive practice, systems thinking, and reflective facilitation to help organizations address both operational challenges and the human realities that influence performance, decision-making, and organizational culture.

​

Charryse is an Adjunct Professor at Northern Seminary, where she teaches trauma-responsive ministry and organizational leadership. She is also the creator of several organizational frameworks and signature learning experiences, including Holding Space Without Losing Yourself, the JWCS Organizational Wellness Framework, and the Center for Responsive Leadership & Care, which equips leaders and organizations to build healthier systems across corrections, behavioral health, faith communities, and nonprofit sectors.

At JWCS, Charryse leads engagements in leadership development, organizational culture transformation, trauma-responsive systems, strategic facilitation, executive coaching, and implementation strategy. She partners with organizations seeking not only to solve immediate challenges, but to build healthier, more resilient systems capable of sustaining meaningful change.

Meet David

Senior Consultant, Leadership & Organizational Strategy

Rev. Dr. David S. Smith is an organizational strategist, executive leader, and educator who helps organizations strengthen leadership, improve operations, and navigate complex change. Drawing from executive leadership across Fortune 500 corporations, higher education, nonprofit organizations, and ministry, David partners with leaders to align strategy, people, and systems for sustainable impact.

With more than two decades of executive experience, David has led multimillion-dollar technology operations, organizational transformation initiatives, strategic planning efforts, and large-scale business operations. His career includes executive leadership roles with Fortune 500 organizations, higher education institutions, consulting firms, and faith-based organizations, giving him a unique ability to bridge operational excellence with people-centered leadership. Whether guiding executive teams through organizational change, improving business processes, or developing future leaders, David brings both strategic insight and practical implementation to every engagement.

As an Assistant Professor of Business at Eastern University, David equips future leaders in organizational strategy, management information systems, global business, and ethical leadership. His academic work complements his extensive executive experience, allowing him to translate complex organizational challenges into practical, actionable strategies. His doctoral research further reflects his commitment to healthy leadership, organizational effectiveness, and sustainable change.

David's approach is grounded in the belief that healthy organizations are built through intentional leadership, operational clarity, and cultures that empower people to flourish. His ability to integrate executive leadership, organizational strategy, technology innovation, and pastoral wisdom allows him to support organizations in navigating both the technical and human dimensions of transformation.

At Just Wright Community Solutions, David leads engagements in organizational strategy, leadership development, executive coaching, technology and digital strategy, operational improvement, and innovation. He partners with organizations to strengthen leadership capacity, improve organizational effectiveness, and build systems that support resilient cultures capable of sustaining meaningful change.

Meet JoVan

Senior Consultant, Strategy
Learning & Research

JoVan Williams-Bey is a strategist, researcher, program analyst, and learning consultant who helps organizations strengthen systems, develop leaders, and translate vision into sustainable practice. Her work integrates organizational strategy, research, curriculum development, and implementation planning to support meaningful, long-term change across government, nonprofit, educational, and community-based organizations.

With more than a decade of multidisciplinary experience spanning public administration, corrections, education, and organizational consulting, JoVan specializes in designing systems that improve organizational effectiveness while strengthening the people who carry out the work. She partners with leaders to develop practical strategies, build organizational capacity, and create sustainable structures that align with mission, values, and long-term goals. Her experience includes supporting educational institutions and public-sector organizations through curriculum development, workforce learning, organizational strategy, and implementation planning, helping leaders build systems that strengthen both people and performance.

Known for bringing clarity to complexity, JoVan excels at translating ideas into structured, actionable solutions. She designs learning experiences, develops leadership frameworks, facilitates organizational planning, strengthens compliance and operational systems, and supports organizations through periods of growth, transition, and change. Her work reflects a thoughtful balance of strategic planning, research, and practical implementation.

JoVan currently serves within the DC Department of Corrections, where she leads cross-functional initiatives focused on operational improvement, workforce development, learning systems, facility transitions, and large-scale implementation planning. Her ability to coordinate complex, multi-agency initiatives while maintaining a focus on organizational effectiveness allows her to bridge strategy with execution.

As the founder of Moments Consulting and creator of Unleashing the Truth, a research initiative focused on elevating lived experience to inform policy and organizational practice, JoVan is committed to ensuring that meaningful change is grounded in both evidence and the voices of the communities organizations serve.

​

At Just Wright Community Solutions, JoVan leads engagements in organizational strategy, research, learning and workforce development, curriculum design, program development, and systems implementation. She partners with organizations to translate vision into practical frameworks, strengthen learning environments, and build systems that sustain organizational growth and long-term impact.

Meet Emmanuel

Senior Consultant, Grief Care & Community Healing 

Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Philor Sr. is a grief specialist, spiritual care practitioner, educator, and pastor whose work helps individuals, organizations, and communities navigate grief, loss, trauma, and life transitions with compassion, dignity, and hope. He partners with healthcare systems, faith communities, and organizations seeking to strengthen compassionate care, foster healing, and support people through moments of profound change.

​

With extensive experience in healthcare, ministry, and theological education, Emmanuel specializes in creating environments where difficult conversations can be held with wisdom, empathy, and grace. His work integrates grief care, spiritual formation, pastoral leadership, and compassionate communication to help organizations care for both the people they serve and the professionals who provide that care.

 

Emmanuel currently serves as a Palliative Care Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator at Temple University Hospital, where he provides spiritual care to patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams navigating serious illness, end-of-life decision-making, and bereavement. Working within one of the region's leading academic medical centers, he collaborates across disciplines to ensure that compassionate, person-centered care remains central during life's most vulnerable moments.

 

As a pastor, educator, and scholar, Emmanuel brings a rich theological foundation to his work. He holds degrees from Lincoln University, United Lutheran Seminary, and Drew University Theological School, culminating in a Doctor of Ministry from United Lutheran Seminary as a Croft Fellow. His academic and ministry experience allow him to thoughtfully bridge theology, grief care, organizational leadership, and community engagement.

 

Grounded in the belief that healing begins when people feel seen, heard, and valued, Emmanuel creates spaces where individuals and organizations can engage grief, transition, and hope with honesty and courage. His calm presence and relational approach enable leaders, teams, and communities to navigate complexity while remaining connected to their shared purpose.

 

At Just Wright Community Solutions, Emmanuel leads engagements focused on grief-informed leadership, compassionate care, spiritual resilience, community healing, and faith-based organizational development. He partners with organizations to strengthen their capacity to care for people during times of crisis, transition, loss, and organizational change while fostering cultures rooted in dignity, compassion, and hope.
